Getting Started
NoThink works in two ways:
- Website demo — Try the interactive breathing orb on our homepage at nothink.ing. No sign-up required.
- Full app — Download the NoThink app for unlimited sessions, grounding exercises, mood tracking, and panic first-aid.
Tap Get App in the navigation bar to download the app and unlock all features.
4-7-8 Breathing Technique
The 4-7-8 technique is a clinically proven breathing pattern that activates your parasympathetic nervous system in seconds. It helps reduce stress, anxiety, and can improve sleep.
How it works
- Breathe in — Inhale slowly for 4 seconds
- Hold — Hold your breath for 7 seconds
- Breathe out — Exhale slowly for 8 seconds
- Relax — Repeat as needed
Follow the breathing orb on screen — it expands and contracts to guide your rhythm. One full cycle takes about 19 seconds. Do 2–3 cycles for quick relief, or more for deeper calm.
Mood Selection
Before starting a session, choose how you feel:
- Panic — For acute panic or distress
- Anxious — For general anxiety or worry
- Calm — For maintenance or light stress
- Sleep — For winding down before bed
Your selection adjusts the experience to better match your state. The orb and guidance adapt to help you reach a calmer state.
Grounding Techniques
Grounding exercises bring you back to the present moment during anxiety or panic. They use your senses — sight, touch, sound — to anchor you in the here and now.
Grounding is available in the full app. Common techniques include:
- 5-4-3-2-1 (name 5 things you see, 4 you hear, 3 you touch, 2 you smell, 1 you taste)
- Body scan and muscle relaxation
- Object focus and sensory awareness
Mood Tracking
Track your emotional patterns over time to discover what helps you feel your best. Log your mood before and after sessions to see trends and build self-awareness.
Mood tracking is available in the full app. Use it to:
- Spot patterns in stress and calm
- See which tools work best for you
- Share insights with a therapist if you choose
Panic First-Aid
When you need help quickly, use the Panic Button. It launches guided breathing and grounding tools designed for acute panic or distress.
